Eric Morgan- Aslan's Growth

Through the Narnia Stories the four children come in contact with the creator and Savior figure of the world, Aslan. The more amount of time they spend with Aslan the more they love him and the better less selfish they become. They are simply made better people the more they spend with him. The most interesting aspect I found in the stories was the fact that not only did the children grow in character but Aslan himself grew as well. He did grow in character like the children, but instead in actual size. I thought this was great because it showed how the more they got to know Aslan the better and more spectacular he became. This was interesting to me because in my walk as a Christian as time progresses I gradually see more and more of Jesus and my view of him grows and grows as well. This can be compared with the children’s view of Aland in the story. Although I do not see Jesus as a giant man now I metaphorically do and I am gradually seeing more and more is almighty power. I thought this was a great way to depict Aslan and portray the growth of the children in their view on life and the importance of not looking to yourself for strength but instead to the almighty creator of the universe.
