Eric Morgan God's Existence

When I was in class Tuesday of this week there was a discussion about the existence of God. People tried to prove and disprove his existence and as they did I simply sat back and watched. Last semester I realized this argument is folly because there is no empirical way to prove the existence of God or the nonexistence of God. He, in my view, calls people to himself individually and shows himself to certain people and not to others. Because of this he is the only one who can prove himself to be real and no one else. Also as I thought about it further I did realize the greater importance of myth. Myth does not use empirical evidence to describe things and situations that take place, but instead it uses depictions of feelings and situations. Because myth does not only use facts it made me realize why the bible has so much myth to it. To attempt to understand something that cannot be empirically prove one must use unempirical evidence and have faith in this evidences reality. I’m not saying that God can be proven through myth but instead I am saying that after God shows himself to you is reality is easier to understand when looked at through myths. God is good and mysterious and that is why one must use mysterious ways to talk about Him.
