Eric Morgan-Kierkegaard
Soren Kierkegaard was a Christian existentialist philosopher who believed that when one is a Christian they must live and active life pursuing Christ. He believed that people who simply believe in the facts of Christianity aren’t only objective Christians which seemingly have no value in his eyes. He thought the only way to be a valuable Christian was to search out the how of Christianity as opposed to the what of Christianity. He called the Christian who searched out the how of Christianity the subjective Christian. This subjective Christian believes that through looking inward too the Holy Spirit that God gave to all who believe one is able to live a life of reality in the Christian faith as opposed to living a life with Christian ideals. Essentially his view is the same as C.S. Lewis’ view of myth. If one were to simply look at the facts of the myth they wouldn’t be able to see the whole picture. Without embracing the how of the myth one will never be able to completely understand the reality of the myth in their own life. Action is displayed in a myth in a way that allows one to see the reality of the situation that took place and because this reality can only be embraced alongside the fact to hace a complete depiction on what is happening in life both C.S. Lewis and Soren Kierkegaard essentially have the same philosophy on life.
