My Choice-Faith and Happiness-Melissa Faller
C.S. Lewis states that “I believe in Christianity as I believe in the sun: not only because I see it, but by it I see everything else.” C.S. Lewis argues here that like the sun, believing in Christianity opens up a person eyes to things that they have not seen before. It allows the believer to view things from a different perspective. C.S. Lewis also writes that that until you have given up your self to Him you will not have a real self. These two quotes allow readers to understand that C.S. Lewis believed that Christianity allows Christians to see things that previously didn’t and that it allows you to experience your true self. These two points support the idea that having faith leads to those who are happier. I believe that this happiness starts from accepting God and attaining a new perspective on the world around us. Additionally, I think that it also due to the reassessment of oneself. The New Testament explains that a new person is born of the spirit and the old has gone away. This explains why statistics shows that those who have faith tend to be happier than those who do not. The facts shows that those who attend church are not only happier because of the community they are involved in but also because of their relationship with the Lord.
