The campfire a perfect way to end the semester of classes in the "wilderness". I loved sitting by the fire and listening to stories of Lewis through the thoughts of Redick. Nothing is more calming that stories by a warm campfire. I also was incredibly impressed with the guitar and harmonica. I can listen to the acoustic guitar all day and the harmonica was an extra special touch.
Being at the campfire took me back to my childhood when I went camping every weekend. I believe that was one thing I could definitely have elaborated on in my paper (though I don't recall any Leais campfire stories other than in his stories in Chronicles). On my camping adventures I made concoctions from items we found on our biking adventures and took advantage of hiking and biking trails all over the campgrounds. More often than not we would find secret hiding places and meeting places for all the childish adventures we would go on.
I believe the connection with nature and Lewis and myself was a divine end to a meaningful semester and college experience. I am excited to delve into his theology further as I get into seminary and begin writing for myself. I can't wait to see the adventure I will be inspired to go on to discover my true appreciation for Lewis, nature, and the wonder of God as I walk my path.
