Other’s Stories-Lauren Brooks
On of the most interesting parts of class this semester was having the opportunity to share the stories that we wrote about Narnia. Everyone’s stories ranged from adding new stories to the books or interpreting different parts of the books. Personally, it was very hard to write a story and then try to find some hidden meaning in it. I think it would have been really interesting to have everyone read their stories, but then instead of commenting on your own story seeing what you could have picked out of someone else’s and then write a response to that.
One of my favorite topics that people seemed to write about was the origin of the White Witch. It always seems to me that whenever someone envisions a character that is that evil there is always something behind it. For example, most people choose to write about her and her sister and the tense relationship they shared and the hurt and betrayal she felt leading into her evilness. However no one choose to go down the path of her really being born evil. I think it would have been an interesting story especially with all of the Christian themes that underlie his stories.
