Reading The Chronicles of Narnia again brought back so many memories. I hadn’t read them since I was eleven years old – when I read them then I went through the entire series in only a couple days. It was so fun to begin the books again and start remembering the stories and my first experience with them. I felt as if I was meeting back up with old memories, yet experiencing them in a completely new way at the same time. I was surprised by the profound truths Lewis wrote into the texts, his brilliant way of explaining complicated ideas in a simple way, and his sense of humor. The books made me think, laugh, and keep turning pages.
As much as I wanted to I wasn’t able to finish reading the entire series in the time frame we spent looking at the books during the semester, but I am planning to add it to my summer reading list!
