Myth as Fact

I found this piece so interesting. It is impossible to understand Christ and his gospel without understanding the mythological side. When one thinks of the word Myth they usually think it means that something is fake, not with Christ. It means it is all the more true. Christ life displays the perfect amount of myth that it takes to believe in his teaching. This reading really intrigued me for many reasons. It reveled that although it was seen as myth it was indeed fact. I have always believed in Christ and his miracles and have written them off as myth and something that I can’t understand. Now I feel as though the firm conviction I have in Christ is in a sense more backed up. I don’t want that to seem like I didn’t believe in God, but I feel like I have a better understanding of the myth that I have believed in for so long.
