Not this world

C.S. Lewis likes to write that we were not created for this world, which is crazy to think about because we live in this world. The more I think about it the more I realize that we really aren’t made for this world. As a Christ follower the first desire of our heart should be God. But time and time again we choose the ways of this world and put idols before God. In that sense, we commit adultery in our hearts against God. That sin is usually though to be committed between a married person and someone who is not their spouse. However, we are guilty of that sin everyday whether we realize it or not. To know that this world is not good, and only God is good then why do we still proceed to choose the world before him? God created the world around us for us to enjoy. He created the mountains and lakes, sky and oceans for us to stand in awe and wonder of Him and His creation. We were created for Him and to adore Him not for this world.
